How the internet changed english

The Internet has changed how people talk, people use all kinds of shortcuts to sentences and words.

for example.   BRB (be right back)   LOL (laughing out loud)   r u ok (are you okay)  gr8 (great).

Internet usage

Around 40% of the world population has an internet connection today. In 1995, it was less than 1%.
The number of internet users has increased tenfold from 1999 to 2013.
The first billion was reached in 2005. The second billion in 2010. The third billionin 2014.

Deep web

The deep web are parts of the World Wide Web. These pages are invisible for standard search engines. It is suspected that the hidden network is several times larger than the external network. Estimates based on the extrapolation of research by the University of California indicate that the Deep Web consists of approximately 7.5 petabytes of data (7.5 petabytes= 75000000gb).

The Dark Web’s offer of anonymity is definitely a huge draw for people who are looking to procure drugs, weapons, and other illicit items, but it’s also gained notoriety as a safe haven of sorts for journalists and people who need to share information but can’t share it safely. Users could only purchase goods here using Bitcoins; virtual currency that is hidden inside the anonymous networks that make up the Dark Web (Bitcoin~228,000 isk).

Information safety - Journalists use the Dark Web to share information and to receive sensitive information from anonymous whistleblowers – for example, the New York Times has a secure lockbox on the Dark Web that people can send files anonymously to.
